Health & Physical Education
Health and Physical Education offers experiential learning, with a curriculum that is relevant, engaging, contemporary, physically active, and enjoyable and developmentally appropriate.
In H&PE students develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to support them to; be resilient, to develop a strong sense of self, to build and maintain satisfying relationships, to make health-enhancing decisions in relation to their health and physical activity participation, and to develop health literacy competencies in order to enhance their own and others health and well being.
Students can study in the learning area from year 7 through to year 12. General Health & Physical Education classes provide the foundation of the learning area. This is augmented by the school Sports Academy program where students can focus on Netball or Hockey in lower school. In senior school the learning area offers stage 1 Course of Study, through to ATAR Physical Education.
The priority for H&PE will be to provide ongoing, developmentally appropriate opportunities for students to practise and apply the knowledge, understanding and skills necessary to maintain and enhance their own and others’ health and well being.
