Summary of Year 12 Performance 2013

Narrogin Year 12 students achieved excellent results.  The dedication and efforts of our staff and students has resulted in a significant improvement in student achievement. As a result, all Academic targets have been raised for 2014.

Narrogin achieved a top 50 ranking for Vocational Education in Schools, ranking 32 out of all schools in Western Australia.

The number of students completing ATAR course increased by 4% with the median Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) score increasing by 2%. The number of students who achieved an ATAR of 55 or above and/or a Certificate II (Attainment) increased by 9%.

Vocational Education students achieved 24 different Certificates with 8 students achieving a Certificate III and two students achieving a Certificate IV in Nursing. The percentage of students achieving WACE was equal to the state average (97%) and the percentage of students achieving a Certificate II or higher increased by 12%.

Criselle Flores won a Secondary Curriculum and Standards Award of Commendation for achieving 20 A grades or equivalent over Years 11 and 12.

Narrogin SHS Continues to offer quality programs for all students. An extensive professional development program for teachers based on research on strategies that make the biggest difference to student learning, by Dylan Wiliam was commenced in 2013 and will be a focus for school improvement in 2014.
